The House Allotment Committee-I (HAC-I) comprises the Dean Infrastructure as its ex officio Chairman and other members representing Group A Officers and the Faculty members of the Institute. The Deputy Registrar (Estate) is also a member on the Committee

The House Allotment Committee-I (HAC-I) looks after the allotment of residences (on the Roorkee and the Saharanpur Campuses) to the regular Group A Officers and faculty members of the Institute. With the approval of the HAC-I, the Estate Office issues House Allotment Advertisement (HAC-I) around 5 to 6 times a year.

In addition to this, the HAC-I also looks after the allotment of transit accommodation to the newly recruited Group-A Officers and faculty members at the time of their joining.

There are also certain provisions of ‘out-of-turn’ allotment of residences to Group-A Officers and faculty members mainly on medical grounds. Any request submitted to the Dean Infrastructure for ‘out-of-turn’ allotment on medical grounds is forwarded to the Medical Committee of the Institute to assess the medical grounds and relevant reasonability to recommend the request for ‘out-of-turn’ allotment. Upon receiving back the request with the recommendations of the Medical Committee, the HAC-I decides on an appropriate residence for the applicant and executes its allotment with the approval of the Director.

The HAC-I also allots Institute residences to the persons eligible under the terms and conditions of an MoU with the Institute.

The Commercial Establishment Committee (CEC) of the Institute comprises the Deputy Director as its ex officio Chairman and other members representing all sections of the Institute Community including its students. The Deputy Registrar (Estate) is the member-secretary of the Committee.

The primary goal of the Commercial Establishment Committee is to facilitate convenient access for the Institute Community to essential products, commodities, and services at affordable rates within the Campus.

For this purpose, the Commercial Establishment Committee (CEC) allots the Commercial Establishments of the Institute to eligible and experienced firms through an online tender process in which Expressions of Interest are invited from eligible vendors. Interested firms/vendors can participate in the process by submitting technical and financial bids as per the terms and conditions of Expressions of Interest. Also, they have to fulfill all the terms and conditions laid down in the Expression of Interest document in order to be allotted a particular Commercial Establishment.

Current Commercial Establishment Committee (CEC)
The Inspection Committee of the Commercial Establishment Committee (ICCEC) comprises the Associate Dean of Students’ Welfare and other members appropriate for the function of the Committee. The Deputy Registrar (Estate) is the secretary of the Inspection Committee.

The primary goal of the Inspection Committee is to ensure that only high-quality products and services meeting the pre-determined standards are provided to customers. The Inspection Committee also ensures that vendors adhere to agreed-upon rates and comply with all the terms and conditions of the agreement. For this purpose, it conducts frequent sudden inspections of the Commercial Establishments.
